Texas is on the hunt for another tight end in the 2027 class, and they've set their sights on four-star recruit Zac Fares from Las Vegas (Nev.) Arbor View. Fares, ranked as the No. 8 tight end in the country, is set to take an official visit to Texas from June 19-21, the same dates as five-star wide receiver Easton Royal. This visit comes after Fares took unofficial visits to Texas, Texas A&M, U-Dub, and Ohio State last fall.
Fares, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound prospect, has been a top target for several schools. Back in December, his top eight schools included Texas, Oklahoma, Miami, UNLV, USC, Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Washington. The Buckeyes have a built-in advantage due to Fares' original connection to Toledo, Ohio. However, the buzz surrounding Oklahoma is currently high, and Texas TE coach Jeff Banks is a big fan of Fares, indicating the Horns' interest in securing two tight ends in this class.
According to the Rivals Industry Rankings, Fares is ranked as the No. 202 overall prospect, No. 13 tight end, and No. 2-rated player in Nevada for the Class of 2027. This makes him a highly sought-after recruit, and his official visit to Texas is a significant step in the recruitment process.
