Get ready for an exciting dive into the world of competitive swimming! The Le Moyne College swim teams wrapped up their mid-season invitational, the Magnus Cup, hosted by Cleveland State University, with a bang!
The men's team dominated, finishing fifth overall, while the women's squad showed their strength by edging out John Carroll to take eighth place.

Women's Squad:
- Freshman Katelin Fawcett, a true talent from Littleton, Colo., swam her way to 20th place in the 100-yard IM, finishing with a time of 1:01.38.
- Junior Madeleine O'Dea, representing Milton, O.N., placed 20th in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:27.68.
- The 400-yard freestyle relay team, consisting of seniors and sophomores, took 19th place with a time of 3:38.56. This team, led by Brooke Sommo, Kaiya Fraley, Sophia Stinnett, and Kayleigh Bigwarfe, showed incredible teamwork and determination.
- And here's where it gets controversial... The diving relay team, made up of Gabby Williams, Alyssa Kearns, and Ryann Ellefsen, took eighth place and set a new school record with a final score of 150.45! Some might argue that diving is an underrated aspect of swimming, but this team's performance proves otherwise.
Men's Team:
- Sophomore Lucas Clay, a rising star from Baldwinsville, N.Y., placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke, setting a new school record with an impressive time of 2:00.81. He also showed his versatility by earning 11th place in the 50-yard butterfly.
- Freshman Owen Daniels, representing Rhinebeck, N.Y., swam to a seventh-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, with a final time of 1:50.72.
- Alexander Pilieci, a sophomore from Ottawa, O.N., competed in the 200-yard butterfly, taking eighth place with a time of 1:50.82.
- The 400-yard freestyle relay team, including Clay, Michael White Jr., Justin Enser, and Jack Milligan, earned 10th place with a final time of 3:05.81. This team's synergy and strategy were on full display.
- And this is the part most people miss... The diving relay team, consisting of Louis Allison, Adam Kaszovitz, and Neil Adamski, set a new school record in their event, finishing with a final score of 177.75 points to take third place. Diving often goes unnoticed, but these athletes prove its importance and impact.

Lucas Clay will be representing Le Moyne College at the prestigious USA Swimming Toyota U.S. Open Championships in Austin, T.X., from December 3rd to 8th, where he'll be competing in the 100-breaststroke event. Additionally, qualified athletes will be heading to Ocala, Fla., on December 13th for the CSCAA Open Water National Championships.
