ICPC's Anti-Corruption Drive: Empowering NYSC Members at University of Uyo (2026)

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Akwa Ibom State Office, has once again broadened its grassroots anti-corruption initiatives by educating and awarding certificates to members of the ICPC/NYSC Anti-Corruption Community Development Service (CDS) Group, University of Uyo Chapter. The recent event underscored the Commission’s ongoing commitment to mobilize young Nigerians as crucial allies in the nationwide fight against corruption.

In her keynote remarks, Mrs. Hope Wobo, Public Enlightenment and Education (PE&E) Officer, outlined the Commission’s core responsibilities and stressed that the fight against corruption cannot rest on ICPC alone. She urged Corps Members to nurture patriotism, honesty, and integrity, highlighting that these values are essential to national progress. She noted that combating corruption is a shared duty and that every citizen has a role to play.

The sensitisation session offered participants a clear understanding of what constitutes corruption, preventive strategies, and the importance of ethical behavior in both public and private life.

At the conclusion of the discussions, participation certificates were conferred upon the Corps Members in recognition of their commitment and proactive contributions to the CDS group’s objectives.

Outgoing Vice President Miss Ekeng Dorcas Afo delivered a closing prayer, asking for steadfast guidance and continued dedication for all members. This was followed by a vote of thanks from the President, Mr. Oyinlola Rasaq Adebare, who expressed gratitude to ICPC officials and attendees for their support and collaboration.

The ceremony, attended by nine dedicated Corps Members, ended on a note of renewed determination. Participants left with a deeper appreciation of their civic duties and a strengthened resolve to promote integrity within their areas of influence.
