Denza Australia's lineup is set to expand significantly in the next year, with plans to double its initial models. Initially launching with the B5 and B8 off-road SUVs next month, the brand is expected to introduce up to three new models soon. Denza's Australian presence is poised to grow, with up to three new models joining the B5 and B8 off-road SUVs following their local debut. Mark Harland, Denza Australia and New Zealand boss, hinted at the potential arrival of the Yangwang U8, a flagship, ultra-premium off-roader, during an interview with Drive. Harland emphasized the brand's flexibility, stating that there's room for model expansion and that new vehicles will be announced in February. The B5 and B8 are positioned in the large and upper-large off-road SUV segments, respectively, making the Yangwang U8 a logical flagship model. Demonstrative U8 examples have been brought to Australia, and camouflaged versions have been spotted undergoing tow-testing. The U8 features a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and four electric motors, producing a combined output of 880kW, and is known for its 'sail on water' mode, allowing it to traverse deep bodies of water temporarily. Outside the U8, Harland suggested a sports car, either the Yangwang U9 or a production version of the Z concept shown at the Shanghai Motor Show, could serve as Denza's halo model. He expressed a personal interest in sports cars, despite their potential limited impact on sales volume. The brand's international product portfolio includes the Z9 and Z9 GT, low-slung sedans and wagons offered in all-electric and plug-in hybrid forms. Additionally, Denza offers the N7, N9, and D9 SUVs, as well as the D9 people mover, all designed for inner-city commuting comfort. Harland confirmed that Denza Australia will incorporate a mix of powertrains, likely utilizing the three BYD sub-brands: Fangchengbao, Denza, and Yangwang. With a focus on building the brand and customer experience, Denza aims to introduce new products at the right time, ensuring a strong foundation before launching high-end models.
