Arkansas Fishing Report: October 16, 2025 - Bass, Crappie, Trout & More! [AR Fishing] (2025)

Get ready for an exciting fishing adventure in Arkansas! Our weekly fishing report is here, and it's packed with all the latest updates and tips to help you reel in some impressive catches.

First up, let's talk about Womble Pond in western Arkansas. Emmett and Ty White recently had a blast catching a bunch of catfish, thanks to the guidance of AGFC Game Warden TraeMichael Samuel. Samuel, a recent graduate of the AGFC's Cadet Academy, knows his stuff when it comes to fishing in this area.

Moving on to Central Arkansas, we have some great news for those fishing at Craig D. Campbell Lake Conway Reservoir. Despite the ongoing renovation, the nearby Nursery Pond is open for fishing, and anglers are reporting catches of bream and trout. The AGFC has stocked the pond with mature bass, crappie, catfish, and bream, as well as rainbow trout for the colder months.

Now, let's head over to the Little Red River. The Army Corps of Engineers has released some real-time outflow reports from Greers Ferry Dam, which you can access through their Little Rock office website or by phone. Mike Winkler of Little Red River Fly Fishing Trips has shared some valuable insights. According to Winkler, the Southwestern Power Administration has been running water daily at the dam, and the projected releases have been pretty accurate. He recommends checking the USACE Little Rock app before heading out to plan your day accordingly. Wade fishing and drift-fishing from a boat have been productive, especially on days with increased water flow. For flies, Winkler suggests trying Pheasant Tail Soft Hackles, Guide's Choice Hare's Ears, midges, and San Juan Worms.

Over at Fish 'N Stuff in Sherwood, they've been hearing from anglers who have been catching both rainbows and browns using marabou jigs, with olive, black, and brown colors working well. The water level is a bit low during the day, but it rises in the afternoon, so early morning fishing is recommended. However, with one generator, you can fish all day long.

Next, we have Greers Ferry Lake. For real-time lake level and outflow reports, visit the Army Corps of Engineers' Little Rock office website. Fish 'N Stuff in Sherwood reports that bass on the lower end of the lake are hitting jerkbaits and mid-diving crankbaits. Look for clear jerkbaits or cranks with blue or black hues, such as the Megabass Vision 1-10 or the Ito Tennessee Shad. For bass fishing on the main lake, a Carolina rig with a watermelon-colored bait is a great choice.

Crappie fishing has been good, with anglers catching them on standing timber in around 15 feet of water. A small, 2-inch swimbait in natural shad color on a 1/16-ounce jighead has been effective. Tommy Cauley of Fishfinder Guide Service shares that the water level at Greers Ferry Lake is 4.04 feet below normal pool, and there's been consistent generation
